Maintenance Connection Announces Release of Version 1.6
Davis, CA December 8, 2003 - Maintenance Connection, Inc., a
Northern California developer of web-based maintenance
management software, today announced the release of Version 1.6
of their flagship web-based CMMS product. All customers
hosting the software in the Maintenance Connection data center
have been automatically upgraded. The following release
notes outline some of the notable feature enhancements:
MRO WorkCenter
Enhanced Preventive Maintenance Scheduling Flexibility
Preventive Maintenance schedules can now be set as a
time-based and/or meter-based schedule. In version 1.5 and
earlier versions, Maintenance Connection supported either
time-based or meter-based (one or the other). Now, in
version 1.6, Maintenance Connection has the ability to generate
a PM by analyzing both the time frequency and
current meter values (whichever hits first) to determine when the PM will come due.
Also new in version 1.6 is the additional support for
floating meter schedules.
Work
Order Auto-Assignments
Specific locations and equipment within an organization's
asset tree can
now be associated with labor
resources that can be set as auto-assigned. This is a very powerful feature which can
streamline the maintenance scheduling process significantly. The
system also supports a backup resource which will be used
when the auto-assigned labor resource is not available for
auto-assignments.
Copy Companies to Labor Resources (as Contractors)
The system now supports a quick procedure to create a labor
resource from the Company Module. Simply select the new Use as a Labor Resource
checkbox in the Company detail page and Maintenance
Connection will generate the required record to
begin using the company as a contractor for labor
assignments.
Customize Report Logos
The system now supports customized logos which can over-ride
the logos which appears on all reports. Since this feature
is build using the system preferences module, logos can be
established for each Repair Center and/or Labor individuals
if needed.
Define Asset Tree Display Order
You can specify
whether the Asset tree orders by Asset Name, Asset ID or
Custom. Utilizing the Custom option is useful in situations
where the assets should be displayed in production order
(downstream equipment coming last in the Asset tree).
Rebuild Asset Tree
The rebuild Asset tree option will manually recreate the
Asset ancestors in the database.
Perform Meter Readings, Specification Updates, or Trackable
Tasks on multiple Assets using a single Procedure /
Work Order You can now specify a
classification for each task in the Procedure module.
When a procedure is selected on a Work Order, Maintenance
Connection will automatically search down the Asset tree
(for the Asset on the Work Order) and establish the correct
Assets for each task. When measurements for these
tasks are entered on the Work Order task sheet, the readings
will be updating the Asset which corresponds to the
classification specified for the task. This is an advanced
feature and generally used only where multiple
pieces of equipment need to be inspected or measured
in a particular order.
Maintenance Connection Mobile Interface
The system now supports an interface to the Maintenance
Connection Mobile application developed for Palm OS PDA
devices. Work orders can be checked in and out by
Maintenance Connection Mobile.
Service Requester
Addition of Problem Dropdown Control
The Service Requester now displays the Problem codes
from the Failures Module. Problems can be linked to
Procedures once a Problem is selected from the Service
Requester, if the Problem is linked to a Procedure, the tasks and estimated costs and materials
of the Procedure will
be automatically transferred to the new Work Order.
Feedback / Submit Surveys
The Service Requester now supports the use of customizable
surveys in which you can track the performance of your labor
and requesters satisfaction of the work performed.
Upon a Work Order closing, requesters can fill out the
surveys in the Service Requester application.
